The Wine Centre and Lions Club are holding their 19th annual Wine, Beer and Whiskey Fair to raise much needed funds for families in Kilkenny this Christmas.

Marketing Manager Dara O’Reilly-Daly (pictured in the middle) and John O’Regan (on the right) from The Lions Club Hamper Appeal officially launched the event by breaking open a bottle.

Since its inception in 1999, the Wine, Beer and Whiskey Fair has gone from strength to strength culminating in the tasting of over 70 wines, beers and whiskeys with gourmet breads and sweet treats.

In total, the Fairs have raised over €45,000 for families in Kilkenny City and surrounding areas.

Marking this year’s launch, Lions Club Member, Mr O’Regan, said: “This year we’re trying to raise in excess of €3,000 with the Fair.

“Every euro we raise goes a long way in making local families lives a whole lot better.”

The Wine, Beer and Whiskey Fair returns to the Rossmore Suite in the Newpark Hotel on Friday, December 1 from 6.30-9.30pm.

Apart from great tasting tipples and nibbles, there will also be a raffle on the night with great prizes to be won.

Tickets which are just €15 per person are available to purchase from The Wine Centre, 15 John Street, Kilkenny.

All monies raised on the night will go directly to the Lions Club
