Some 12,000 people from around the South East came to see the newest car models at the Kilkenny Motor Show held in The Hub at Cillín Hill over the weekend.

The 2013 models were showcased by local dealers at the event from Friday to Sunday, with about two-thirds of visitors coming from Kilkenny and the remainder travelling in from neighbouring counties Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford and Laois, to see Ireland’s only indoor motor show.

“It went great. We had about 12,000 people through the doors over the three days, so we were very happy,” said Motor Show chairman Kevin Morrissey. “We got a very positive response.”

He thanked the motor show’s main sponsors Bank of Ireland, AIB and First Auto Finance, as well as The Hub venue manager Sarah Canning, for helping to make the event such a success. He also thanked media partners The Kilkenny People, KCLR 96FM and Beat FM, and sponsors Langton’s.

The event got such a positive response, Mr Morrissey said, that they are already looking ahead to next year’s show.
