For the past nine weeks, the ladies of Ballyhale Womens Guild have been knitting teddy bears for the children of Gaza who have been traumitised by war.

The local co-ordinator is Sheila Mac Donald and the teddy bears were recently handed over to Sheila at the hall in Ballyhale. “From there they will begin their long journey to Gaza, an old tradition has been revived, well done to all concerned. It is great that these bears will be given to children who need them. Many of them have suffered from post traumatic stress because of what they have seen,” said Carmel Harrington who was involved in organising the event.
