The Christmas festival – A Very Kilkenny Christmas – kicked off last weekend, and this is one of the features. Kilkenny Chamber is sponsoring the initiative and will award its recently launched Shop Local vouchers to the organisers behind the winning window display. The business owner will receive a €400 Shop Local voucher and the window stylist will be awarded a €200 voucher.

To be eligible, window displays must incorporate the Shop Local poster in some way. The competition is open to all businesses across the county and they do not need to be a member of the Chamber.

The local community is encouraged to get involved by nominating their favourite festive windows on the facebook pages of Kilkenny Chamber and/or A Very Kilkenny Christmas. Broadcaster Helen Carroll, who launched the Shop Local initiative, will select the winner from a shortlist of four.

The winner will be announced on Christmas week.
