South Kilkenny under water
Heavy rain and high tides resulted in impassable roads and flooding to businesses in South Kilkenny on Monday morning.
Local councillor Tomas Breatnach said that the road between the Grannagh Junction and Newrath was ‘impassable for a number of hours’and that the Redbridge Roadstop petrol station was forced to close for a short time because of the flooding.
Meanwhile in Freshford a number of trees fell and a roof was blown off a building resulting in temporary road closures.
According to AA Roadwatch bus transfers were in operation yesterday (Tuesday) between Kilkenny and Waterford due to flooding.
