ACCORD opens new office

ACCORD, the Marriage and relationship counselling service has opened a new office at Seville Lodge, Callan Road, Kilkenny. The official opening of the premises was performed on Thursday evening by Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan who said the new setting would enable Accord to provide an even better service to a growing client list. “It is important to have organisations like Accord operating effectively in our community in order to deal with the stresses and strains in relationships in these difficult times,” he said.

ACCORD is an Irish voluntary Catholic organisation that promotes a deeper understanding of Christian marriage and offers people the means to safeguard and nourish their marriage and family relationships. It also provides pre-marriage courses for couples of all denominations. Other services offered are Marriage Enrichment, Marital Sexual Therapy,Fertility Management, Schools Programmes and Personal Enrichment.

Mary Curtin of Accord, told the Kilkenny People there had been a major increase in demand for its services with more and m re marriages coming under pressure with financial problems at the fore. The office in Seville Lodge is open from 2 to 5pm on Mondays and Thursdays and from 11am to 1pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.
