Presidential hopefuls campaign in Kilkenny

TWO of the independent presidential hopeful were in Kilkenny canvassing for supporters this week. Mary Davis attended the County Council Meeting, while Sean Gallagher was in Kilkenny to carry out a ‘listening exercise’ with business owners.

TWO of the independent presidential hopeful were in Kilkenny canvassing for supporters this week. Mary Davis attended the County Council Meeting, while Sean Gallagher was in Kilkenny to carry out a ‘listening exercise’ with business owners.

Mary Davis outlined her experience in working with special Olympics Ireland. She explained how this position had given her experience in international diplomacy, something she felt would be key to her presidency.

Sean Gallagher’s trip to Kilkenny focused on meeting with the business community. He met with the with small business owners and members of the Kilkenny Women’s Business Network. Mr Gallagher has experience in fostering small businesses from his days as a Judge on Dragons Den. Whether he can find investors for his presidential bid remains to be seen.
