If this Government does nothing else in its five year term except, “bury forever the immoral two tier system of health delivery” it will have done our country a great service, according to Cllr Michael O’Brien.

If this Government does nothing else in its five year term except, “bury forever the immoral two tier system of health delivery” it will have done our country a great service, according to Cllr Michael O’Brien.

The Thomastown local representative made the comment to Minister for Health & Children Dr. James Reilly at a special meeting of the HSE Forum in Cork At the meeting, Cllr O’Brien told the Minister that having been involved for years in health board representational matters he witnessed distressing cases where unfortunate people were denied their right to equal access to urgent health care. “I have no doubt that people will look back in future years; as they do today in relation to revelations about shocking treatment of vulnerable people in State care and say how on earth did we not shout stop to a care system so obviously unjust and wrong.”
