Richie is the face of Pauls Menswear

Five times All-Ireland hurling medal winner and GAA All-Star Richie Hogan swapped his blackand amber jersey for high fashion to launch the SS13 menswear collection for Kilkenny department store Pauls.

“Richie Hogan is an incredible sportsman that young men and women alike admire. We’re thrilled to have him as the face of our Men’s Spring Summer collection and he looks fantastic too!”, said Hugh Paul, Director, Pauls. “We’re very proud of the great fashion labels we have secured for this season – many of them exclusive to the southeast – which means that our customers have everything they want in Kilkenny city and don’t need to travel for great fashion. In fact, many of Pauls customers are from outside Kilkenny who travel to us for the fashion brands they want”

23 year old Richie, who plays for Danesfort and is a primary school teacher in Clontarf, will be the face of Pauls Menswear this season, fronting a roster of labels for the store that includes: G-Star; Lyle & Scott; Gant; Superdry; Diesel; Tommy Hilfiger; Ralph Lauren; Lacoste and Hugo Boss.

It’s the inter-county and All-Star’s first time to model and he admitted to being “as nervous as lining out on a big match day” in making his debut. His selection as a model, according to Pauls’ director Hugh Paul, was because he is “a perfect fashion ambassador. He is young, fit, successful and an all-round lovely guy. Men admire him, kids look up to him and women fancy him”.

Richie was joined by models Lisa Kavanagh and Derbhilia Coogan who modelled the Pauls Spring Summer women’s wear collection. It includes new arrivals Marella, Passport and reversible jeans brand Bleulab. Pauls is the only store to stock Bleulab jeans outside of Brown Thomas. They join the Pauls repertoire of ladies fashion brands for SS13 that includes Luisa Cerano; MaxMara; Joseph Ribkoff; Fenn Wright Manson as well as sportswear brands Levis, Guess, Salsa, Gant, Tommy Hilfiger, Superdry & Roxy. The Spring Summer focuses on bright colours, patterned and printed denim, floral prints and monochrome colours. A 1950s inspired look, gives a preppy look with feminine cuts to fabrics and a return of paisley, new peplum cuts and fabric mixes.

Pauls fashion offering this season will be boosted by a line-up of exclusive shoe and handbag labels as part of Pauls’ new accessories department which will be formally launched next month. They include: Michael Kors; Valentino; DKNY; Orla Kiely; Juicy Couture; Guess; Rocoborocco; Irregular choice; Poetic licence; Moda in Pelle; Tommy Hilfiger; Ugg; Noe; r-me and Blackmail.
