Santa run for autism

Get in the festive spirit next Saturday December 10th by taking part in the 2nd annual Kilkenny Santa fun run.

Kilkenny people will have the opportunity to get in shape for Christmas and raise money for charity by donning a Santa suit and completing a 5km course through the city centre.

All funds raised this year will go to the Kilkenny Branch of the Irish Society for Autism.

Last year up to 100 people took part in the event and race organiser. Roisin Hickey is hopeful that even more people will take part in it this year. “ Last year everyone really enjoyed taking part and wearing the santa suits which they received for free. I’m also hopeful that as many people will attend this year and that we raise as much money,” she said.

So if you happen to see a number of santas walking or running around the city centre next weekend give them a hoot or a cheer as they get in shape for Christmas!

Registration for the event will take place in the Left Bank from 12.30 to 14.30. Race commences at 3pm outside the gates of Kilkenny Castle. Entry costs €10 for santas and €5 for mini-santas. A free Santa suit will be provided to all participants upon registration. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
