St Columba’s Hospital to remain open

MINISTER for the Environment Phil Hogan has confirmed that St Columba’s Hospital, Thomastown will remain open despite cutbacks in the health service nationwide.

MINISTER for the Environment Phil Hogan has confirmed that St Columba’s Hospital, Thomastown will remain open despite cutbacks in the health service nationwide.

He received the assurance yesterday (Tuesday) from the Health Service Executive (HSE). Minister Hogan had sought the reassurance following fears expressed locally that it might be affected by funding cuts to be announced in the Budget.
