Callan man to represent Kilkenny at Mr Personality festival

Philip Daniels will represent at the 7th Annual Mr. Personality Festival which is being organised by Kilkenny Macra na Feirme and will be held on April 27 and 28 in the city’s pringhill Court Hotel.

The festival is again sponsored by Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services.

Philip is a 27-year-old from the Callan club. His hobbies and interests include running, baking, swimming, travelling and doing things for Charity (Irish Farmer Calendar). He believes he will make a good entry for Mr Personality because he is a fun loving gentleman, carefree, always has a smile on his face - even in the tough times.

The contestants will arrive at the Springhill Court Hotel at 7 pm on Friday, April 27 with the on stage interviews starting at 9pm. Former Macra President Matt O’Keeffe will be conducting the interviews. This will be followed by music from Domino Effect and D.J. till late.

Philip will have an early start on Saturday morning as contestant challenges take place in the hotel ballroom starting at 10am. After lunch each contestant will be interviewed by the judges: Irene Maloney, former Munster Vice President of Macra, Clara Walsh, Midland 103 FM and John Nolan, Freshford Macra.

On Saturday evening, the informal banquet will start at 8pm followed by Deuce’s Wild and Dj till late with the winner of Mr. Personality 2012 to be announced around midnight.

Tickets for the banquet can be booked by contacting Denis on 086 8389401. Also taking place this weekend on Saturday, April 28 the national semi-finals in debating in the Aspect hotel and on Sunday, April 29 the National Volleyball Finals will be held in The Watershed Kilkenny.
