Trocaire is appealing to the people of Kilkenny to return their Lenten campaign boxes.
Trocaire has thanked the people of Kilkenny for supporting it’s 2013 Lenten campaign and is reminding people to return theirTrocaire boxes.
“I would like to thank everyone from Kilkenny, who has taken a Trocaire box into their homes,” said Justin Kilcullen, Executive Director of Trocaire.
“The incredible fundraising efforts and generosity of people across the country is making an extraordinary contribution to changing the lives of some of the world’s poorest people. Children like Ambika Paraja, the little girl on this year’s Trocaire box, will go to school, have enough food and help build their local communities into the future, thanks to this support.”
This year’s Trocaire Lenten campaign highlighted how donations from Ireland are helping people living in the most isolated and forgotten rural communities in India, to improve their lives and their children’s futures.
“Parishes across Co. Kilkenny will gladly accept returned Trocaire boxes from this weekend,” said Mr Kilcullen. “I would ask anyone who has a Trocaire box at home or in work to kindly drop it back to their local parish and we can start putting these generous donations into action.”
