MEP Nessa Childers will visit Kilkenny City tomorrow (Friday) to meet local people and groups, and visit the site of the proposed Central Access Scheme.
Ms Childers will meet local Green Party councillor Malcolm Noonan and Shirley O’ Brien, who have made a formal complaint to the EU Directorate for the Enviroment regarding the council’s plans to demolish a house on Vicar Street. She will also meet representatives from An Taisce at Butler House, and walk route of proposed new road.
The Ireland East MEP also intends to visit Ossory Youth, and receive copy of the new County Suicide Prevention Plan, and to meet a local Youth Democracy project who are involved in a cross-European exchange. She will also visit Barnstorm Youth Theatre followed by a visit to Mens Shed.
