A KILKENNY-BASED company which employs forty people has purchased the former temporary court offices on Parnell Street.

The state-of-the-art building on Parnell Street had been empty since last October when court staff moved into the refurbished court house in the city centre.

Auctioneer Warren McCreery confirmed to the Kilkenny People that the premises has been sold for 485,000 euro (excluding VAT) to the IT company who will move there next month. “I was delighted to handle the sale and for a local company to relocate to this very fine property,” he said.

Mr McCreery is also handling the sale of the former Fas Offices in Irishtown. Staff moved to their new home at McDonagh Junction last year. “They were tenants down in Irishtown for many years and decided to move up to McDonagh last year,” he said. The property is guiding for 250,000 euro.

Meanwhile Mr McCreery was also responsible for the sale of the Kilkenny Inn Hotel, which sold earlier this year for 1million euro. The hotel is currently back on the market with a guide price of 1.5million euro.
