Buddhist guru to visit Inistioge

Panchen Otrul Rinpoche, a Buddhist monk, will give a 2-day of teaching on “How to Develop a Happier Life” on April 8 and 9. The event will take place at Ballielogue Clochan at The Rower, Instioge.

Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche was born in Tibet, in 1939. He was immediately recognised as a re-incarnate Lama. In 1961 he received monk’s full ordination from the Dalai Lama. In 1987 he travelled to the U.K. on behalf of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to work on interfaith dialogue. Then, in 1990, he was invited by Irish students to become Spiritual Director of a new centre in West Cavan, Ireland, to which he gave the name Jampa Ling Tibetan Buddhist Centre.
