Couple named in fatal accident

The man and woman killed in a two-car collision on Wednesday evening have been named as Tommy and Angela Kenneally of Templemore, Co Tipperary. Mrs Kenneally was 61 and her husband was 65.

Gardai are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision on the Kilkenny to Freshford Road. The collision occurred at approx 6.45pm at Troyswood, approximately 2.5 miles outside Kilkenny.

Two cars were involved in the collision. There were three people in one car; a male (65 years) was pronounced dead at the scene a female (61 years) was pronounced dead at St Lukes Hospital. The third person in the car a female was taken to St Lukes Hospital. There were two people in the second car and they have been taken to St Lukes Hospital, Kilkenny. The road was closed for a number of hours for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place. None of the injured parties sustained life-threatening injuries.
