Cllr Sean Treacy said it is only a matter of time before someone loses their life at the country crossroads and is appealing for funding to be made available.

“There have been a number of serious accidents there and I am afraid that someone will be killed. It is only a matter of time. I have serious safety concerns. There have been a number of accidents coming from the Raheenmore direction, some of which ended in people being brought to hospital.

“I have spoken to the local area engineer and he has assured me that he will speak to the landowners there. I am hoping that we can secure funding and that we can remedy the situation,” he added.
