The Carlow/Kilkenny National Campaign for the Arts is inviting members of the arts community, artists and those working in the arts, to participate in a public conversation on the current position of the arts in a time of cutbacks. The event will take place at Langton’s Set Theatre on October 13 at 8pm.

This event follows on from the public discussion “The Arts Are a Luxury We Can’t Afford Right Now!” held during the Kilkenny Arts Festival in association with the Carlow/Kilkenny NCFA. Because of the large turnout, not all of those present had an opportunity to share their views, so this up-coming meeting is intended to further that discussion.

The meeting will provide a short update of the work by the National Campaign for the Arts nationally and locally and will primarily be aimed at developing a conversation with the wider arts community from Kilkenny city and county.

It is also intended to generate public conversation before the finalisation of budget decisions being made at national and local level. All are invited to attend.
