Applauding those who Keep Kilkenny Beautiful

Community groups and individuals who work tirelessly to make Kilkenny a more attractive and pleasant place were celebrated at the annual Keep Kilkenny Beautiful Awards last night (Tuesday) in Hotel Kilkenny.

Prizes were handed out in categories honouring individual households, housing estates and businesses across the city.

A special Hall of Fame award was presented to Mary Maher, while an award for Best Community Effort went to O’Loughlin Court.

The Home Rule Club was awarded in the Environmental category, and an Endeavour award was given to Mick Brennan, foreman with Kilkenny Borough Council.

Individual Community Awards were given to Pat Mulrooney, George Ralph, Patrick Leydon and Joe Vickers; and the Fitzpatrick Perpetual Shield was awarded for the DOP Garden at St Luke’s Hospital.

The awards night, for which the main sponsor is St Canice’s Credit Union, also honoured the following winners.
