A group from the Tidy Towns committee are expected in Kilkenny next week to judge the city for a tourism award.

The ‘Tidy Tourism Towns Award’ was introduced this year by Fáilte Ireland to support towns which have achieved recognition in the competition and have an interest in tourism. A monetary prize will be awarded to the winners.

“There has been a group of people working actively on this,” said Mayor Sean O’ hArgain.

“We are putting together a strong proposal and putting our best foot forward.”
