Asia Trade Forum takes place in Kilkenny Castle

Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan was in Kilkenny this morning to open the regional seminar of the Asia Trade Forum – an initiative of the Irish Exporters Association established to increase two-way trade with Asia.

Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan was in Kilkenny this morning to open the regional seminar of the Asia Trade Forum – an initiative of the Irish Exporters Association established to increase two-way trade with Asia.

Private companies in attendance were given an insight into the opportunities and challege of exporting to that conference. ATF chairman Hugh Kelly chaired the event, which saw speakers from Connolly’s Red Mills, Enterprise Ireland, the Port of Waterford, and Connect Ireland.

“We had a very good presentation today particularly from Connolly’s Red Mills, a local company, who have given tips on what to do in relation to preparing well for going to Asia, exploring opportunities, and some of the pitfalls that people should watch out for,” said Minister Hogan.

“It’s a learning curve for a lot of small companies.”
