DRUM Youth Centre has a lot going on

Teens looking for something to do over the summer will be glad to know that the Foróige DRUM Youth Centre has a ‘Dropin’ Youth café for 12-18 year olds, where young people can play pool, use the internet, play the Wii as well as availing of snacks and drinks all of which are free of charge.

Teens looking for something to do over the summer will be glad to know that the Foróige DRUM Youth Centre has a ‘Dropin’ Youth café for 12-18 year olds, where young people can play pool, use the internet, play the Wii as well as availing of snacks and drinks all of which are free of charge.

The café is open every Tuesday and Thursday for third to sixth years from 4.15pm-6.15pm. It is open on Saturdays from 2.30pm-4pm for first and second years, and 4.30-6pm for first and second years.

The new summer timetable will start from Monday, June 10. It will be open weekly for first and second years on Wednesdays from 5-7pm and Saturdays 2.30-4pm and for third to sixth years on Tuesdays from 5-7pm and Saturdays 4.30-6pm.

There will be a variety of summer programmes on offer: June 18-21 mixed activities for first and second years; June 25-28 hair and beauty for first to sixth years; July 2-5 mixed activities for third to sixth years; July 16-19 street art project for third to sixth years; July 23-26 start your own business (NFTE) for first to sixth years. All these programmes cost €15 per participant.

Band/Music Practice Room:

Free band/music practice slots are available for 12-18 year olds.

The Youth Committee are also organising a late drop in for third to sixth years on Friday, May 17 from 7.30pm-9.30pm. The theme for the night will be ‘Eurovision’, and there will be snacks and drinks, music, fun games as well as the usual youth café activities.
