With the by-election for Carlow-Kilkenny just over five weeks ago we have teamed up with a cutting edge, Kilkenny digital media company to provide you with the latest information on the campaign and the candidates.

We want your opinion on the issues affecting you and your voting intentions. The primary goal of iVOTER is to help voters learn about candidates ahead of the by-election on Friday, May 22. It is an easy to use App that provides a hub of information on all candidates. Candidates can provide their manifesto, social media feeds, videos and much more as part of the campaign strategy. The result is that people learn a lot more about their candidates than ever before and can then make an informed voting decision at the ballot box.

Meanwhile election candidates are introduced to voters through a new channel in a very interactive way. Traditional canvassing methods like posters and flyers are costly and timely to produce while iVOTER is a full digital experience. Younger voters are also more likely to use a service such as iVOTER rather than paying attention to a flyer that comes through the letterbox.

To download iVOTER on your smartphone, visit www.ivoter.ie or search for it on the App Store and Google Play. The App is free and is available for iPhones, iPads and Android devices. The App is designed to resemble a ballot paper and has an election theme running through it. Full candidate profile information is now available for all candidates in the Carlow-Kilkenny by-election.

The App offers voters with a chance to express their opinion on local matters by completing polls, surveys and mock elections. Results are fully anonymized, aggregated and can be reused by local media outlets as an up to date source of campaign information. Rather than relying on national poll results, iVOTER makes it easy for local media agencies to report on local matters with quality polling information. iVOTER is delighted to partner with The Kilkenny People for the upcoming Carlow-Kilkenny by-election so log onto the App and tell us what you think.

iVOTER is provided by Pin Point Alerts, a communications company based in Kilkenny City. The company is co-founded by Brendan Cunningham from Carlow and Michelle Lawless from Kilkenny. Pin Point Alerts’ services are used by a large number of local authorities as well as over 150 community text alert groups across Ireland. The company is also the service provider for the Kilkenny GAA Supporters Club alert service.
