Kilkenny County Council has approved plans for a 65-bed nursing home at Barrowmount, Goresbridge.
The applicant KSQ Consultants Ltd had sought a change in its previous planning permission to omit housing units on sites numbers 7 to 44 and instead to build a 65-bed nursing home.
“Houses 1-6 are to remain as per (a previous planning permission),” according to the planning file. “Dwellings No.1 and 4 are complete. ...
“The nursing home is a large single-storey building made up of three inter-connected blocks with a total floor area of 2873 sq.m. There are three internal open courtyard areas within the building and additional open space surrounding the proposed nursing home, with a pitch and putt area indicated to the north between the proposed nursing home and the site boundary with Cluain Mhuire housing estate. The remainder of the site to the east and northeast is identified as being for ‘future development’.”
The plans also include 39 car parking spaces.
