Following on from the recent Town Hall meeting to discuss the future development of Kilkenny city, members of the public will have a chance to build on the discussion at an evening hosted by Kilkenny local authorities on Tuesday of next week.

This meeting, to be held on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Parade Tower, is the first of two such events to gather public opinion for the creation of a new Development Plan for the city and county. The second meeting concerning the future development of the city will be held on July 24 in the same venue.

Kilkenny local authorities are preparing to commence a review of the policy document and to make a new Development Plan for the period 2014-2020. Anyone interested in following the process can register on the website ourplan.kilkenny.ie.

This website is designed to encourage comment and collaboration, to inform and influence the making of the plan. Registration is easy, and this forum will allow for ideas such as those expressed to be heard by all the key players.

Anyone who has a strong view on any of the topics raised at the Town Hall meeting or wants to know more about the development plan is welcome to attend new Tuesday’s meeting. There will be a short presentation on the Development Plan and then a chance for people to speak to a member of the planning team to have their views heard and their questions answered.

Members of the public can make a submission on any Development Plan issue between June 15 and August 24. Further information is available at http://ourplan.kilkenny.ie.
