Aspiring accountants in Kilkenny have less than two weeks left to win €5000 towards their accountancy education in a competition run by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA).
The competition, which can be accessed via the CPA’s facebook page, will draw to a close on November 9. The judges, including Marc O’Dwyer, managing director of Big Red Book, and Alex Fisher, vice president of skills training atState Street will then choose one lucky winner to receive €5000 to pursue their dream of a career in accountancy.
“If you have any inkling about pursuing a career in accountancy, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for,” said Ciara Murphy, marketing executive with the CPA.
“The long term benefits of studying for an accountancy qualification are evident, with the profession remaining one of the most consistent and reliable career options available to graduates. This competition is a way to assist potential CPAs to achieve a worldwide recognised accountancy qualification.”
A CPA qualification offers students unique flexibility to study at their own pace and allows students choose how and when they move through the qualification. CPA students range from school leavers to college graduates, to accounting technicians, to mature students seeking alternative career paths.
The flexibility of the study and training programme means that students can start classes right away and build their training record as work becomes available, and in some cases, previous employment counts towards training.
