Camino walk

Santiago De Compostella Camino Stations of the Cross will be held this Palm Sunday in Jenkinstown Park, four miles from Kilkenny city. The stations are the pilgrims stations as walked in Santiago De Compostella in Spain and France. People are invited to gather in the church carpark at 2.30pm to begin the stations. They will be led by Fr. Willie Purcell. Santiago de Compostella is a place of pilgrimage going back too medieval times with pilgrims from all over the world every year making the camino walk. Many walkers from Kilkenny have done the Camino and in 2014 a group from Kilkenny will do the walk to remember Bishop Thomas Strong who went from the Cathedral in Kilkenny to become Bishop of Santiago de Compostella. All are invited to join the walk on Sunday and to experience in a small way the Camino.
