EVERYDAY I’m Shefflin is the Kilkenny anthem to this years All Ireland.

Eddie Hughes, Brian Hennessy and Billy Murphy have combined Depeche Mode, LMFAO and MC Hammer with Brendan Hennessy’s commentary from previous All Ireland’s to produce a dance anthem for the All Ireland.

The musicians who all part of Kilkenny DJ’s sampled the songs and edited them together to make a high tempo dance tune that has racked up over 5,000 hits on youtube and been played on Ian Dempsey’s breakfast show on Today FM.

“It started off as a bit of a laugh,” said Eddie Hughes, “but we got such a big reaction on facebook and youtube that we said we’d go a bit further with it.”

Kilkenny DJ’s have been playing the song in pubs and clubs around the county and it has become so popular that people are no requesting it on nights out. “I knew Kilkenny needed a new song, so we put the Depeche Mode part in because of the chant in it, and then we needed something with a bit of bounce to it,” said Mr Hughes.
