TWO hundred metres of copper wire were stolen from a quarry on the outskirts of the city in the latest of a spate of copper wire thefts across the county.

The wiring was taken from the Readymix Quarry in Dunmore over the Christmas period but was only discovered and reported to gardaí last week. In recent months significant amounts of wiring have been stolen from Clara, Windgap and Tullahought. Anyone who see anyone acting suspiciously is asked to contact gardaí on 056 7775000.
