KILKENNY are back in the All-Ireland final for the sixth consecutive year thanks to a six point win over Waterford in the All-Ireland semi-final at Croke Park.
Two first half goals from Kilkenny’s Richie Hogan helped the Cats to an interval lead - and they remained dominant throughout the second half despite the promptings from Waterford’s John Mullane.
Mullane was Waterford’s main scoring threat in the game - hitting 1-6 with his goal also coming in the first half.
Henry Shefflin (0-7) led the Kilkenny attack with distinction as midfielder Michael Fennelly and the Kilkenny half back line were relentless throughout.
Kilkenny await the winners of next Sunday’s semi-final clash between All-Ireland champions Tipperary and this year’s NHL winners, Dublin.
