Councillor wants Vicar Street landlords to up their game

A LOCAL borough councillor has called on property owners in the Vicar Street area of the city to do more to keep their buildings tidy.

At last week’s meeting of Kilkenny Borough Council, Cllr Seán Ó hArgáin (Lab) expressed concern over the area between Greensbridge and the Troysgate roundabout, and along Vicar Street.

“I would appeal to property owners in the area,” he said.

“A lot of it is just a matter of re-painting or even just cleaning the windows.

“It is quite visible and there are two very strong tourist businesses on the street. I think it would be a substantial help to all of us.”
