Maria wins top pet portrait award

MARIA DUNPHY has been named as Ireland’s top pet photographer for the second year in a row.

MARIA DUNPHY has been named as Ireland’s top pet photographer for the second year in a row.

Maria from Kilkenny won the top pet portrait award at the Irish Professional Photographers Association awards ceremony which was held recently.

Selected from over two thousand entries submitted by the members of the IPPA Maria scooped the category prize with

her stunning portraits of dogs. This is the second year Maria has been named Irelands Top Pet Portrait Photographer having won the prestigious award last year. In November Maria’s photograph of nine golden retriever puppies scored bronze in the Federation of European Photographers International Photographic Awards.

Maria’s newborn portraits also featured in the final of the awards “ It was so exciting for me to see my images featured in the final I’m very honoured that the judges selected my portraits” said Maria.

Maria’s father, Oliver Dunphy who started the family portrait studio 46 years ago was also honoured by the IPPA being presented Honourary Life Membership of the Association by President Gareth Byrne last month.
