Thousands of people flocked to the farm of Ken Whiteford in Tullyvolty, Johnstown last week for the annual Irish National Sheepdog Trials.
The three-day event saw some of the best dogs in the country and their handlers compete for the title, with the top 15 also selected to go forward and represent Ireland in the international competition.
But there was a lot more than just the trials taking place. A large trade stand area and children’s activities also formed part of the entertainment, while there were plenty of places to get some food – or, more accurately given the perfect weather, some ice-cream.
