The owners of a plot of land in Talbotsinch are still waiting to hear whether they will be allowed to build four houses there, after Kilkenny County Council’s approval of permission for the plans was appealed to An Bord Pleanála by both Fáilte Ireland and the Talbotsinch Village Residents Association.

The matter was referred to the board in January shortly after the council issued its decision, but there is still no indication as to when the board will make its own ruling.

The proposed development consists of two four-bedroom houses and two three-bedroom houses, each of which are two storey dwellings. This development is located within the Talbotsinch Architectural Conservation Area at Talbotsinch Village, Freshford Road, Kilkenny.

The site is located to the rear of Cúl na Gréine, a detached Arts-and-Crafts style house dating from around 1903.
