AN ENGINEER will represent Kilkenny at the 8th Annual Mr Personality Festival which is being organised by Kilkenny Macra na Feirme and will take place at the Springhill Court Hotel on April 19 and 20.
The festival is sponsored by Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services. Brendan Phelan is a 23-year-old civil/project engineer from Callan. His hobbies and interests include Macra, farming, diving with the Kilkenny Sub
Aqua Club, travel, hurling, badminton and swimming.
Brendan believes he will make a good representative for Kilkenny because he is outgoing, entusiastic and fun and also likes to socialise and meet new people. He is also very active and likes to help out at Macra’s events and support
members and likes to organise events when he can.
The weekend itinerary is as follows – the contestants will arrive at the Springhill Court Hotel at 7 pm with the on stage interviews, conducted by former Macra President Matt O’Keeffe starting at 9pm. This will be followed by music from Adams Locker and D.J. til late. Brendan will have an early start on Saturday morning as contestant challenges take place in the hotel ballroom start at 9am. After lunch each contestant will be interviewed by the judges – Carmel
Brennan, John Nolan and Clara Walshe from Midland 103 FM.
On Saturday evening after the photocall with the sponsors, an informal banquet will take place starting at 8 pm. Mr. Personality 2013 will be announced at midnight.
