Lions Club fundraise for suicide awareness

Kilkenny Lions Club are organising Kilkenny’s first ever Shoe Fashion Show with all proceeds going to local suicide awareness programmes.

Kilkenny Lions Club are organising Kilkenny’s first ever Shoe Fashion Show with all proceeds going to local suicide awareness programmes.

This novel event is being held in Langton’s Ballroom on John Street, on April 10.

The show will showcase shoes from nine prominent Kilkenny shoe retailers –Kings Shoes, Pauls, Goods, Sabo, Padmore and Barnes, Collins Shoes, Graham Shoes, Shutterbug and Elvery Sports.

Professional models will display a variety of women’s shoes including casual, leisure and formal wear.

On arrival, you will be treated to a complimentary glass of wine and you will have the opportunity to browse and perhaps purchase shoes on the night.

MC for the night is the very popular and knowledgeable shoe expert George Candler.

There will be a cover charge of €10 per head, all of which will go tolocal suicide awareness programmes.

Angela Hayes, who spoke so eloquently on the Late Late Show ,will be in attendance together with her son Alan, who recently launched his new CD, Survivor.

“This is a very worthy cause and your support will assist the development and implementation of this extremely important social programme within County Kilkenny,” said Sinead O’Keeffe , President Kilkenny Lions Club.
