The fourth Ger Devane Memorial Golf Classic will take place in Kilkenny Golf Club on the 7th and 8th June, 2012. This year’s nominated charity is The Kilkenny Community Early Years Project.

The Kilkenny Community Early Years Project supports children and families across Kilkenny with a focus on helping those experiencing disadvantage. The project also facilitates parents who are accessing training and education by offering childcare. The project is managed by a voluntary management group, it is a not for profit community service and relies heavily on grants from the HSE and Department of Children and Youth Affairs.

Money raised by the golf classic this year will allow them to partially cover the playground allowing the children to play outdoors in all weather and also install an outside toilet.

Over the last three years funds raised by the classic have seen the opening of the Family Room at St. Luke’s Hospital and donations have been made to many organisations including Alzheimers Kilkenny, Kilkenny Social Services, Special Olympics, St. Vincent de Paul and The Irish Sociey for Autism.

A team of four people costs €200 which includes breakfast bap, bar-b-que on the course and an evening meal. €100 will sponsor a hole. For further information contact Michael Devane – 086 2504081.
