The Good Shepherd Centre has been granted planning permission for alterations and a single-storey extension to rear and side of its Lodge residence at Church Lane, Kilkenny.

Kilkenny Borough Council has given its approval for the proposed works at the lodge house beside the entrance of the Good Shepherd Centre. The lodge is a detached dormer dwelling dating back to around 1900.

The plans include the demolition of an existing rear extension and shed of approximately 12.5 square metres and the construction of a new-single storey extension of approximately 18 square metres to the rear of the lodge residence. The floor area of the dwelling will increase from 86 square metres to 104 square metres. The house will remain a two-bedroom dwelling. The proposed extension includes a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.
