HISTORY was repeated at Tullaroan on Saturday when a Tullaroan selection defeated St Finbarr's of Cork by 0-22 to 1-17 in a thrilling game of hurling.
The match was a centenary celebration of the 1904 All-Ireland final. Kilkenny, represented by Tullaroan, beat Cork who were represented by St Finbarr's.
The match was played at Deerpark, Carrick-on-Suir in a field owned by Maurice Davin, one of the founders of the GAA.

All the hurlers were presented with a commemorative scroll and a meal at the Lory Meagher Heritage Centre.
Paddy Buggy and Seamus Rian, former presidents of the GAA, attended the function.
Both spoke in glowing terms of the two participating clubs and paid a tribute to the organisers of the historical event.
In a curtain raiser to the Tullaroan v St Finbarr's game, an under-14 Tullaroan Team played a St Finbarr's outfit. The Cork side proved too strong for the locals.

golf – The next outing for the Golf Society is on Satruday at Carrick-on-Suir Golf Club. Names to be given to Mary Kenny immediately.
A committee meeting will be held in Connolly's Lounge tonight (Wednesday) at 9.30pm.
The second hurling club golf classic will be held on July 29 and 30 in Rathdowney golf club.
Outstanding sponsorship dues or raffle cards can be brought to the Clubrooms tomorrow (Thursday) at 9pm.
A bus will leave the village at 8pm on July 30 for the prize giving and celebrations in Rathdowney.
war house – The official opening of the Famine War House will be held at The Commons, Ballingarry today (Wednesday) at 3pm. All are welcome.
collection – The Irish Wheelchair Association will hold a church gate collection at the weekend.
