Called Gathering Gestures, the app has been created by Tourism Ireland, offering a wide variety of gestures to ensure our international visitors get more from their holiday here and an extra special welcome in this year of The Gathering.

Megan Casey-McGuirk, a 15 year old Presentation Secondary School student had camped outside RollerCoaster Records, Kieran Street, Kilkenny because she did not want to lose out. “The last few times, I ran out of luck because when I got to the counter they were all sold out,” she said.

FORMER president of the GAA, Paddy Buggy, Slieverue has passed away. The 84 year old won a senior All Ireland medal with Kilkenny in 1957 and also served as chairman of Kilkenny GAA County Board. His remains will repose at Power’s Funeral Home, Ferrybank tomorrow, Friday, from 2pm with removal at 7pm to the Sacred Heart Church, Ferrybank. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Fianna Fail cash stolen after church gate collection

John McGuinness TD was among those having tea and biscuits after Sunday morning Mass in Dunmore church, on the outskirts of the city when a scheming gang of robbers struck. The place was full of cars because the Mass was relayed live on RTE 1 television and attracted a large crowd.
