Aldi gets the OK in Kilkenny
ALDI has been granted permission for a store in Loughboy, Kilkenny at the junction of the Waterford Road, Nuncio Road and Bohernatounish Road – across the road from Lidl.
The discount retailer has been given the go-ahead for “the construction of a single storey discount foodstore (to include off-licence use) with a gross floor area of 1,555 sq. metres (net retail area of 1,125 sq. metres)”.
“The development includes the erection of one free-standing double-sided internally illuminated single pole sign: one free-standing triple pole sign with two single-sided internally illuminated signs: one single-sided internally illuminated gable sign: 97 car parking spaces; associated landscaping and site development works all on a 0.71 hectare (1.76 acre) site.”
Access to the site will be provided via the Waterford Road.
“The proposed discount foodstore site forms part of an overall site of 1.1993 ha (2.96 acres) and represents the first phase of a mixed use development on the entire site which will also include residential development and the provision of a medical centre, which will be subject to a separate planning application archerstreet lot.”
