Cocaine case adjourned for report

A YOUNG man who admitted having cocaine in his possession for his own use had his case adjourned for the preparation of a probation report.

Mark Lee, 22 Castle Avenue, Thomastown admitted the offence at his home on April 23, 2010. The court heard that on the date in question the 26-year-old was found with €50 worth of cocaine and a small quantity of cannabis. The defendant had admitted smoking cannabis in the past but said that the cocaine was ‘an isolated incident’. Judge David Anderson adjourned the case to March 30 to obtain a report from the Probation Services on the defendant’s progress in relation a community service order he is carrying out in relation to a separate and unrelated offence.
