Cyclists raising money for Down Syndrome Ireland

A CYCLING tour to raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland will be rolling through Kilkenny on Saturday.
The group of 40-50 cyclists raises hundreds of thousands of euro each year for nominated charities for the Munster region, and for the third year running Down Syndrome Ireland is the beneficiary charity.
On Saturday, the cyclists will pass through Kilkenny city, including Kilkenny native Conor Roche, who is also father of a child with Down Syndrome. The occasion is their Mid-Winter Calibration Spin, an annual event that gives those who haven’t seen the bike for a few months the opportunity to see where they stand fitness-wise.
Their 120km route will start in Clonmel and continue through Fethard, Killenaule, Ballingarry, Tullaroan, Kilmanagh, Kilkenny (lunch stop) and Callan, then completing the loop back to Clonmel. The following day another 70km will be done in County Waterford.
