Dean Seamus McEvoy to retire as diocesan changes announced

CATHOLIC Bishop of Ossory, Séamus Freeman SAC, has announced the following clerical changes in the Diocese of Ossory: Dean Seamus McEvoy is to retire as parish priest of Inistioge and become Pastor Emeritus in Rathdowney. Fr. Patrick Carey C.C. Rathdowney, Co. Laois to become Chaplain at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Fr Lorcan Moran, Chaplain at St. Luke's Hospital to become Curate in Thomastown.

Fr Richard Scriven, Team Member at St. John’s Parish, Kilkenny to become parish priest of Inistioge. Fr Sean O’ Connor, Chaplain at St. Kieran’s College, Kilkenny to become a Team Member at St. John’s Parish, Kilkenny. Fr Dermot Ryan C.C. Mooncoin to become Chaplain at St. Kieran’s College and Diocesan Director of Adult Faith Development. Fr Eamonn O’ Gorman P.P. Mooncoin to become Parish Priest in Seir Kieran, Co. Offaly. Fr Peter Muldowney P.P. Seir Kieran, Co. Offaly to become Parish Priest in Mooncoin. Fr William Purcell C.C. Callan to become full time Diocesan Director of Vocations with residence in St. Kieran’s College, Kilkenny. Fr Dermot Ryan’s appointment is effective from August 26; all other appointments are effective from October 29.
