Fatal stab victim named

THE VICTIM of a fatal stabbing in a housing estate on the outskirts of the city has been named locally as 21-year-old Kieran Monaghan from Durrow.

It is believed that the incident took place during a house party at an apartment at Larchfield Court, Loughboy in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Another man, in his mid twenties from Clogh in Co Kilkenny remains in hospital. He is being treated for stab wounds.

A third man, in his mid thirties was arrested following the incident and remains in custody at Kilkenny Garda Station.

Anyone who anything suspicious in the vicinity is asked to contact gardai on 772 22 22.
