Fine Gael’s Director of Elections, Phil Hogan expects that his party will secure 77 seats in the General Election.

The Carlow/Kilkenny TD, who is on the verge of masterminding three FG seats in his own constiuency, said that Fine Gael are in a strong position to win 77 seats - and described it as an “historic” result with a strong mandate from the people.

Both Hogan and John Paul Phelan remain at the top of the poll in Carlow/Kilkenny, and with the transfer of Carlow candidates Fine Gael expect Pat Deering to benefit and claim the final seat.
