Man arrested following Castlecomer robbery

A MAN in his twenties was arrested following a violent robbery in Castlecomer on Friday evening.

The robber entered the garage wearing a balaclava and brandishing a knife entered the Railyard Garage shortly before 9pm and demanded cash. He left on foot with a small quantity of cash.

A short time later a man was arrested and questioned by gardai in relation to the incident. He was later released without charge and a file for the DPP is being prepared on the matter.
