Stabbing suspect remains in hospital

A 35-YEAR-OLD man arrested shortly after the fatal stabbing which claimed the life of 21-year Kieran Monaghan remains in custody at St Luke’s Hospital.

The man was initially taken to Kilkenny Garda Station and then brought to St Luke’s Hospital where he is being treated for injuries to his foot and head. Gardai are waiting until he is released from hospital to question him. The suspect remains under arrest at the hospital. Gardai have spoken to a number of people who attended the party at the apartment where the row broke out.
