Tennis club holds open day

People who might like to cause something of a racquet are invited to try their hand at tennis!

Budding Nadals and Sharapovas can test out the sport when the Kilkenny Lawn Tennis Club hold an open day at Archersfield on Saturday, September 21.

The open day, which runs from 2 to 6pm, is designed to show people what the club has to offer. Facilities at the Castle Road club include eight full size courts (all-weather and floodlit), a mini practise court, fully-equipped gym, sauna, showers and bar facilities.

Free coaching will be provided by Billy Bolster, Tommy Rochford and Brian Doyle. There will be a chance to use all the facilities and to play some fun tennis. Light refreshments will be provided.

New Members

The club will hold a fun night for all new members, including all who join as a result of the open day, on Thursday, September 26 from 6.30 to 7.30pm. The night will include free coaching, light refreshments and a fun tournament. Club coaches will be on hand to answer questions or give advice.

Ball

The club will host a gala Tennis Ball in the River Court Hotel on Saturday, October 12.

Tickets for the ball (formal dress) are €40 and include a five-course meal and music. Tickets are limited to 150 people but all welcome (members and non-members).
